Pillars of Belief

The following pillars of belief were created by The Baton Pass in an effort to help others know foundational truths that can lead to a transformational life of knowing and sharing our stories.

Our Conviction = God Is Good & He Is For Us

God is good. Jesus was the manifestation of God’s love and goodwill towards humanity. God can turn any situation around for His glory. However, He is NOT the author of tragedy or evil.

Our Identity = A Chosen Generation & Children of God

Romans 8:14-16 (NIV)

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Our Expectation = Triumph in Christ

Matthew 28:18 (ESV)

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
